“And so with the sunshine and with the great bursts of leaves growing on trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Hello, Creative People!
Happy Solstice from the sweltering Midwest. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, cheers to cookouts and fading paint, fat bees and tall flowers, pools and iced tea.
As with any transition, seasonal or otherwise, it’s good to practice a little self-awareness, and that’s what Unleash is doing. We have some big plans brewing, but we also want to check in with you.
I’ll keep this short so you can get back to our fiction, CNF, craft articles, and poetry. So let’s get down to it:
The Unleash Team is in the process of brainstorming about an online conference in 2025. This will be an accessible, multi-day experience, and we want to base it on what YOU want to experience. So if you have ideas for us, please email me at info@unleashcreatives.com
Ekphrastic vibes: We will reopen to Unleash Lit submissions in September. In the meantime, we are actively looking for visual art submissions now, with no fee, so if you have something amazing, send it. The idea is that we publish nothing but art in September with the call for writers to respond to the art that inspires them via their poetry and prose. We will also welcome regular submissions at this time.
All selected literary responses to art will be published in winter.
You are invited to a ZOOM Reading by authors in our new anthology ON RULES. Join by registering here.
Finally, tell us your thoughts . . .
We hope to see you at all the things! Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

“One benefit of summer was that each day we had more light to read by.”
– Jeanette Walls, The Glass Castle
