Sometimes Love Sounds like Silence
It’s a glint in the flip of your stomach,
a crack in the catch of your breath,
a shock when I love you is whispered into the fog of a steamy shower,
the slow reveal of the heart’s purpose
like a balloon accidentally
released into the sky,
its path tracked from the tip of your head to the top of the trees,
through the cloudy veil until it disappears,
a disposable truth winding its way to nowhere.
